1. Make sure you are LOGGED IN. (guests can't create new threads or posts)

You can sign in or create a free account here: https://www.reef2reef.com/account/

2. Click the forums tab at the top of most any page on the website.

3. Click the appropriate forum that coincides with your question or topic. In this example we're going to post a new thread in the Lounge Forum. So click here.

4. On the forum list page, which is the next page that comes up after you click the forum you want to post in, is a link that says POST THREAD in the upper right hand corner. Click there and start your new thread.

And that's it! Fill out the title and the content and create your new thread!

Why won't it let me post a new thread in the wanted to buy forum?

We have to be a member for 30 days and have made 25 contributing posts. I was wondering the same thing for a while until I finally found a forum about the requirements in order to post there. (Will edit this to add that link once I find it again.) I'm waiting my 30 days out too..

I would like to know what counts as "posts." Is it creating our own post from scratch 25 times? Or does commenting on others' posts helping them out with something also count? I'm sure revhtree knows though

Basically offering assistance, sharing your tank via build thread or addressing another member's build thread, involvement in reef related discussion such as equipment types and preferences, and reefing styles.

Long story short, posting to contribute rather then get to a post count of 25.

Thanks for the clear explanation! We all appreciate it!
