How to use a filter sock...

I have a 10 gal. Innovatilve Marine Nano...it doesn't come with a filter sock and I've never seen one in use...I have sponge filter at the overflow...any use or any way to use such...or is it just extra "stuff" in a tank this small?:confused:

Perhaps you can run a canister filter once a month to polish the water. The sponge should be good for your tank, just remember to take it out frequently to rinse it well.

Coralife makes a 50 or 100 micron filter sock material pad for about 15 bucks

IM sells filter socks now..
Personally i copied the sock holder and made one out of acrylic..now i use diy socks.
