I have a lot of detritus in my sump I would like to clean up. I tried using a siphon vacuum like I do for water changes but I don’t have enough space for gravity to work. What do you guys use to clean the gunk off the bottom of the sump?

Are you trying to do this with the return pump on?

I use a smaller diameter rubber tubing and start a siphon by just putting it underwater, pinching it over to hold the water inside, and then putting the end in the bottom of the bucket. As long as the tubing ends is below the water level when you release it there should be siphon but the water has to be inside the whole tubing - no air.

If that makes sense.
