Just a quick into. Live in upstate NY and recently hubby became obessed with starting a salt water tank, so back in september we started our 56 gallon salt water tank. I say "our" but it is truly his. I look at all the pretty stuff and he does all the work! We have a reef tank with 2 Ocellaris, 2 PJ's, 1 McKosker, 1 orchid dottyback, 1 royal gramma, a skunk and peppermint shrimp and my favorite of all, my little fighting conch Larry. there are other snails in there too, but none like him. We have a nice bubble coral I actually purchased while on a trip to RI and brought home, a frag of dragon eyed zoas, pink people eater zoas, blue ricordea (though it looks grey to me) and some pulsing Xenia that's growing like a weed. our live rock was VERY live and came with quite a bit of gregorian coral, hidden cup coral, a lot of sponges as well as red macro algea. We also have too many feather dusters to count.
My main roll in all of this is to give my opinion on what to put in the tank and to keep hubby from spending too much on this addictive hobby. He does the same for me when it comes to other pets so it's a win-win situation. If it wasn't for him I'd be the crazy cat AND dog lady. I'll see if I can find a good pic of the tank to post. I also just got him some moonlights for Christmas so now we can watch the tank at night without the flashlight!
