Ah a chill is in the air....and reefing is getting back into it's busy season!

What plans do you have for your reef during these colder months?

Anything new you're doing?

Same plan and adhering to Stability
I do nothing different with tanks other than verifying heater is working and eyes always open for a good livestock deal

You don't get more excited when you're indoors more often? Maybe mes with the aquascape a little? Add a new fish?

I just added a boatload of new corals last night! Gonna sit back and watch them grow!
Did have to mess with the scape a little. Still not 100% happy with that part yet...

Well, I'm using only natural, locally collected seawater and I'm dreading collecting it in the winter. I'm looking into options that will allow me to minimize contact with the water (right now I'm literally dipping a bucket in the water from a jetty). Adding a rope to the handle so I can toss it in might be the easy solution, but I'm also looking at battery operated submersible pumps because why do something for free in this hobby when you can pay money to do it?

I'm also working on component redundancy. We keep our condo pretty cool overnight (true for the summer as well), so I have multiple backup heaters. I've also added a backup return pump (surprisingly cheap), multiple options for testing the same things, salt mix in case of needing water and being unable to go get some seawater, a cheap amazon water bottle ATO in case my Tunze fails, and even a cheap nano powerhead in case the Nero 3 fails.

Add when I find a good deal
When indoors, I spend more time on R2R and TV and cooking
