I’m about to start up my setup, quick question you started out all dry base rock ? I ask because yours looks non-white like mine so I’m assuming it’s not dead ? Any tips for the ugly stages of doing all base rock like I will ? What was your timeline from cycle to first coral ? My wife wants to introduce coral asap lol

I put my dry rock in a tub in the garage for about 2 months with a piece of live rock from the LFS. Once the tank started I think I cycled for like a week before adding the first fish, then another week for the first coral. I tested daily because I had nothing better to do.

I've been pretty lucky with the ugly phases, they last a week or two then go away for a bit. Currently experiencing one right now. I think the refugium helped. Also make sure it's not too clean, it was worse when I had 0 nitrates/phosphates.

RBTA keeps splitting. Was lucky enough to see this guy floating in tank at 2am while doing xmas presents. Caught him and put him in housing tank with rock.
