Hello can anyone tell me what euphyllia this is?
It was sold as E. ancora - but it has "dots" and "hammers" :S

Could it be a hybrid like the one mentioned in this article?
https://reefbuilders.com/2016/10/05/hybrid-hammer-x-frogspawn-coral/

Thanks in advance :)

Looks like an octohammer. Never seen one before. Pretty cool! I have seen in person 2 cross breeds specimens of 2 euphyllias. I can't remember which two euphyllias where the two that were combined(think it was a frogspawn and hammer), but it is probably possible that an octospawn and hammer turned hybrid.

OK i found out there is an actual term for this Euphyllia!
They are called "Frammer" coral :D

Did not know that was a thing - I have not seen an Euphyllia like that before.
Is it rare? Because I kind of want it even more now lol

Do you guys know more about it?
Do you even have a Frammer coral in your tank? Share some pictures! :)

I’m a big fan of euphyllias as well and that is a priced piece. Btw what lens filter do you use to capture such an awesome picture without all the blues.

Actually all the blues were still on for the shot I just used Snapseed app and adjusted the white balance a tad.

octospawn has a lot more runoff knobs

Hammers have more elongated shape.

And a frammer has the elongated part as well as frogspawn runoff knobs.

Thank you all very much for commenting!

@Catchemall
So to be clear:
octospawn = E. yaeyamaensis ?

Really cool Euphyllia you don't see too often either :D
As of right now it's on my "look out for this coral" list ;)

Is there a scientific/latin name for the "frammer"?

Also good news:
The picture in the first post was from the onlineshop of the dealer - not my photo and also not a very good one.
Your boy bought that hammer shown in the first post ;)
I don't care if its rare or not - I already love it!
It will be arriving tomorrow, alongside some other cool stuff!! *coral shipment hype*

Octospawn=E. Paradivisa

I have one on my left side structure bottom of the pic.

I think the frammer is just basically another morph of a hammer not really scientifically named. Not sure really.

Here is a better pic of mine. In the one photo you can see the anvils and the frog type runoffs [emoji196]
