Hydor performance 405

I have a hydor performance 405 skimmer they have 2 pump 1 to feed and 1 to produce bubbles can the feed pump connect it with a rowaphos reactor before it goes to the skimmer?

The amount of flow that would be pulled might not allow the rowaphons to slightly tumble... that stuff seem to break apart very easy.

If you are attaching via a "y" connection and some sort of ball valve that might work.
