Does anyone have the hydros connected to their Reef Octopus VarioS 4 controller, if so how was it accomplished?

Also what are the ports above the float port for?

If the VarioS 4 has a 0-10v input you can use either a wave engine or the Control 4 to connect. It would be a matter of getting one of the 0-10v outputs connected to the VarioS 4 output. Also the wave engine can drive the VarioS 4 directly from what I understand.

You can drive the Varios 4 off the 0-10V connections on the Control 4. But you will have to use the original Reef Octo controller and Power supply. I didn't go that route as I have a Wave Engine which by using a connector cable provides power to the Control 4. With the Wave Engine, I did away with the controller and power supply. The Wave Engine requires an adapter cable from the pump to the drive port on the Wave Engine. In my tank I'm running a Varios 2 in a UV/Reactor loop, a Varios 4 as the return and two Octo Pulse 2 as wave pumps. By doing that I eliminated all 4 conrollers and power supplies.

Glad to see this because I want to also run my Varios 4 return on direct drive. I'm also going to try doing the same with the Various 4S pump on my skimmer.

In the Hydros app do you have to configure it as a flow pump? When I look at the return pump configuration I don't see the WE direct drive ports, so not sure if I'm doing something wrong or that's the way it is.

Yes, it is a flow pump. You will also have to create at least one schedule for it. I don't think the skimmer version works direct drive. Not sure about 0-10v though.

I contacted Coralvue and they stated that the skimmer model does not work with the hydros and the 0-10v is only for wave makers that support the hydros. They do not have a control for flow pumps at this point.

First off are you running a Wave Engine (W/E) ?. If so I have my Varios 4 set up as a "flow pump" and using the direct drive adapter cable attached to the appropriate direct drive port. I have it set up as constant speed and the schedule is set for 24 hours. If you are trying to do this off the Control 4 then you will need to use the 0-10V connection. If your reef octo skimmer uses a standard Varios 4 pump then I don't see why it wouldn't connect to the W/E using a Reef Octo

You can use the flow pump output type and use constant flow in the schedule. Below is the output setup, scheddule and a screenshot of the status page showing the output. You can also create more that one schedule for a pump if you want.
