Hi again,
Here I am with the Hydros Minnow user error AGAIN. This shouldn't be this hard, or I shouldn't be this dumb.
Simply trying to dose Alkalinity. Went to logs and no doses were made at all for two days since I made the schedule/output. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Second, is the Red Sea Dose more user friendly? I sold my Apex and Neptune b/c it was too "computery". I'm finding Hydros to the same. Does the Res Sea dose just make it simple for people that don't have a need to have a "if then, then this" type of set up? I just want to say "hey doser, dose ML in 2 even doses daily" ... what doser is a better solution for people like me?

Thank you!!!

I have had the RS doser for years spot on easy set up and has never failed me. There are many dosers that are just as easy and reliable as RS I’m sure.

At first glance I don’t see anything wrong but it’s much easier for support to remote into your system and check for you. Hit up [email protected] and they can help you in no time.

Connor and company very obviously can lurk here. I would think that they would attempt to help. Official support channel or not. It benefits the customer and the community that may also run into the same issue.

Yeah, but its always faster to go through the support channels and the support team is bigger than just Connor that mans the portal. Plus the team can remotely check configurations on a users setup much faster than trading screenshots that don't always show the whole picture. At first glance I don't see anything configured wrong, but there's only half the info shown.

Are you willing to share a screenshot of the RS dosing in the app? Curious if it's like the RS lights and pumps where its very obvious what the app is asking you to enter/provide. I'm not sure why other apps aren't this way. like in my small brain it should be something like this:
1. what dose head?
2. how much to dose?
3. At what speed?
4. How many doses per 24 hr?

I just feel like someone needs to create a smart doser that is geared towards people that don't think like an engineer. Makes me want to sell my minnow and reefwave and grab the RS.

Stop being a homer for them. It get's old and my context was clear. I don't give a hoot what the "proper" or "fastest" support channel is. This happens to be the largest most active reefing site on the internet and representative for the company browses this forum almost daily. A customer is here looking for help. It is that simple. I am Just trying to get his attention to get this person some help in the environment that they sought it. It will be helpful and convenient for them and anybody else following along.

@SaltLifeMom @BeanAnimal

Your doser is overridden to OFF.

This should be in AUTO for it to work in the schedule you created.

Please adjust that and you will find that the doser does work in AUTO mode.

In OFF, you would only be able to MANUALLY dose, as you have found.

Don't hesitate to reach out to us directly at support, there we can remote in, see your issues much sooner and diagnose alongside you!

Yep, I lurk in here and help when I see issues, thanks to all who DM'd, tagged, and messaged to help a HYDROS user out! Customer Support is by far our #1 priority.

Thank you! Can you tell me why that happens? Is "off" the default? Would it be worth adding that to the step by step guide on your website?

I have been very pleased with my RS doser. It will be coming along to next build even if i go the hydros route for other things.
Although my tank is not RS just about all my equipment is. Lights, dose, ATO & wave pumps. Very fond of the quality, reliability and love that everything is on one easy to use app. Parts are easy to find and all have worked flawlessly for many years

well that was rude.
My response was to a vocally self proclaimed “hydros fanboy” (his own words), John. My post speaks for itself. My goal was to get the OP quick attention for her problem, not entertain rhetorical advice about the benefits of their amazing support channels. That you find my response rude is your call.

Product fans are fine, but the constant spin gets old. He may have meant to help, but he put more effort into ignoring context to promote the vendor than he did helping.
