Can anyone tell me how I set up hydros to turn off the protein skimmer (plugged into XP8) when the skimmer cup sensor triggers? I have it set for an alert but I would like it to shut the pump off and I’m not seeing how to do that.
Thanks

In case anyone comes across this in the future. Pretty sure I figured it out. You have to set up as Family: Advanced, Type: Generic. You can then adjust based on the input of the sensor.
Don’t know if there’s other ways to do it but here’s how I have mine setup,as an output on my launch

That is how I originally had it set up but I believe that will only alert you and not actually turn the skimmer off. Does yours turn off when the sensor gets wet?

Yes mine does both. I have it set to alert me and turn off that outlet

Just tested it again to be sure I wasn’t giving bad advice

My skimmer output has 3 inputs so I used the generic output for it. I do not let the skimmer cup fill out. I have a container that it drains into outside of the sump. Also you will probably want to set a depends on using your return pump output. Set the dependency mode to off if off. I also put a minimum off time of 10 minutes. In the case of being turned off with the depends on the minimum off time countdown will not start until the depends on has been released. In this case the return pump output turns back on. My three inputs are a sensor in the skimmate container. I also have a sump high level sensor and a leak detector in the bottom of the stand so if there is a leak around the sump it will detect it and turn off the skimmer and some other pumps also. Below are a couple of screenshots of my skimmer output settings.

I currently have it set up like your 1st input. I’d like to put a “depends on” code for the return pump but it’s on battery back up so I would have to use one of the wifi plugs I believe. Not sure I trust them. Being on battery back up it shouldn’t matter anyway, plus the skimmer cup sensor would shut it down if it did overflow from the return being off.

I may just go back to the simple protein skimmer option since I’m only using one input and black dragon design said it was shutting theirs off correctly.

if the skimmer cup sensor works the depends on would also. The controller has the info. All that goes to the wifi strip is a command from the controller to either turn on or off a port on the wifi power strip. If communications is lost between the controller and the power strip then it will stay in whatever stat it is in until communication is resumed unless there is a power failure. Then all outputs on the wifi strip will revert to off once it boots up until it gets a command from the controller to do otherwise.

That output also has the depends on options also. It only has the one input though.

I’ve just seen other brand wifi outlets do what they want sometimes so I’ve avoided them.
When you use the skimmer option, if you pick depends on, you cannot pick an input. It only shows the outlets. It may be already programmed in the code but it doesn’t show the same options as the way you have the input coded to be on when dry. I may totally be misunderstanding what you’re saying though. I’m coming from apex so this is new to me.

depends on is only for outlets like your return pump in the case of the skimmer. There is a single input where you select the skimmer water level sensor.

Here is a screenshot of what it would look like if I used the skimmer output. I didn't do it here but you can enable advanced settings to set a minimum off time.
