So....you all asked for photos on my updates so here they are. This is my 40gal w/ 20gal sump that i DIY'd all by myself.
CAN I TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM
i was so fearful the pump wouldnt be strong enough or the setup would just fall apart. BUT YOUR GIRL DID IT ALL ALONE. I had a minor freak out earlier today when i was putting my equipment together and realized my flex hose wouldnt fit on my sump pump. But that just allowed me an excuse to go to Lowe's and then create this beautiful elbowed intake (yes that is just panty hose on my intake until i get an actual reef sock).

—- also added sand and rock last night after picture. Left the tank running overnight with the wave maker and it’s still insanely cloudy (very last photo) I have changed the sock and filter pads twice now. Help!

My sand came with an additive to settle the dust....None with yours? Time will definitely settle it though. Welcome to saltwater....Patience and time required at all times...Keep hands and legs inside the ride at all times. looking good!!!!

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
