I finally got my dream fish! I think I’m going to call him Hubert or Hewie for short! And after a very stressful/cold day! From bag to bag to bucket to bowl, a trip to my work, a bumpy ride home, and finally to quarantine! I’m very very very happy to report the little guy looks great. He’s swimming and breathing normally and has no visible signs of disease. Tomorrow I will get him some more decor/hiding places He will be in quarantine/my care for a bit until the 120 at my Mom’s work is setup and ready! I’m already in love with him. :star-struck:

I had the same--back in the 1980's. An active, entertaining fish for sure which i enjoyed for years. It would eat anything-I think you may be pretty limited on inverts.

I’ve had mine for 6 months now and he’s quickly become one of my favorites! When he sees me walking by the tank with the plastic cup in my hand he knows it’s chow time lol. He will race across the surface of the tank like an excited little kid splashing water it’s hilarious. You’re going to get attached to him real quick congrats!

I once had fish called Wanda, if she was still alive , we could've mached her with Hubert :winking-face:
Congratulations with your new pet, I mean family member!

I just want to rub his little tummy and pet him like a dog! I did try to and he didn’t like it. But I know he’s stressed and still getting used to his environment and his natural personality has not shown yet.

He did sit in the break room and wait for me with my one coworker texting me updates on him lol! The same coworker who used to have saltwater tanks and I send him updates and enjoy talking to him about all things saltwater needless to say he was so excited to see the friend I brought to work with me!! I was joking around it was bring your pet fish to work day haha! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
