I freaked when I saw this and took a picture. Of course I felt pretty silly later. Thank goodness I've learned a few things. Photo is from 2012.

Those do like to eat but they aren't predators like the meat corals, they will take mysis, krill, pellet coral food.
Here are 2 of mine, seems like they call at least 3 different corals "button corals", I call these modern corals.

Your second picture the one on the bottom is basically the same one that I have but blue :)

That's a cool story. I would have freaked out too. I can say though I've had shrimp and even crabs molt the same day I've placed them in my tank. Glad Pierre is alive and well.
