Let's start this off by saying I work for FedEx Express. On Tuesday I bought a newer apex off a fellow reefer and since I work for FedEx I built a shipping label and shipped through FedEx to get my discount, why not? Well it was cheapest to ship via ground and it would get here by Saturday, a couple days no biggy. Well on Wednesday I got notification that it would be here the following Tuesday. That kinda made me question things especially since it was supposed to be here by sat. Also I dont want any damage to the opr or ph porbs. ( they were shipped with the tips places in bages of the tank water) I called customer service and they are of no help, so I just decided there was nothing I could do I'll get them Tuesday. Just dont want any damage to the probs due to damage to the box and the water leaking or anything like that. Well this morning while at clinicals I checked tracking and it's out for delivery, I was so happy! Well I finally get home from clinicals at 330pm and I see a note on the door saying "we missed you". I called FedEx and they said I wont get it until Wednesday now. I guess the packaged needed to be signed for (I didnt set up the shipping label that way and the value was set to less than 1k) I tried to contact the FedEx ground building to see if I could just pick it up but no they are closed. So now I wont get it until next week. I'm so ticked off, everytime I try and use my discount and ship via the company I work for I always get screwed over. I dont get it, sorry I just had to rant.

Don’t work for them but have had similar issues. More with fedex and USPS. Less so with ups

Fed Ex and UPS both suck, neither one will knock on the door, they lie and steel and then circle the wagon, they cut holes in your package to see what is inside of it. They used to be professional but not anymore. Amazon may just kill them.

My dealings with FedEx 6 ft led light on my front porch Left special instructions on shipping label. USPS will put packages over my fence. UPS will place them in back of my truck. Seem to have problems with FedEx mainly

I don't feel it is the company that is flawed but the workforce in general is not what is used to be. Everyone feels they are being underpaid for a job they are barely competent at. There is an employee at my office that literally was sleeping on two chairs while being clocked in yesterday because she had a headache. Guess what... she wants a raise this year. 15 years ago the quality of people was different. The level of entitlement wasn't as profound. Most individuals have to be micromanaged to put in a honest days of work now. That's the end of my rant.
I feel with one phone call to you this could have been handled much better than it has been.

I agree, the company itself it's a great company they have everything thought out and are really there for the customer. It's just the people that they hire. They either feel they dont get paid enough to work or are just lazy. At my location just in 6 years I've seen soo much change, as far as the work ethic goes. Really it's a sad thing that people are like this now days.

About 8 years ago I was living in the Florida Keys. My air conditioner window unit was not working well so we ordered a new one with rushed shipping. We were home all day it was due to be delivered and were sitting just 10 feet from the door. Then we saw on tracking that they tried to deliver it but no one was home and it needed as signature. Not only was there never a knock (again, I was 10 feet from the door all day), but also the tracking clearly said no signature required. Well we quickly called a friend who worked for UPS. He normally would have been the driver for our area but was on desk duty due to an injury. He took a quick look for us and saw the air conditioner wasn't even ever loaded in the truck and was just sitting in the distribution center. The driver was lazy and didn't feel like dealing with it that day so just marked it as no one home when in fact he never tried. Our friend just loaded it in his car and delivered it himself for us.

My thoughts,
They seem disorganized and too big. And some of the drivers cant read basic numbers. Our number is 6909, at least 1 a month they dump 6906 on my porch. When the guy delivers he rings the bell. By the time I get to the door I already see the trucks tail lights.

Never have a problem with FedEx or USPS, but we call UPS united package smashers. I have seen the backs of both fedex and ups trucks. The ups truck looks like a boiler stoker loaded the truck. Fedex has never been loaded so carelessly.

There is issues in one manner or another with all shippers, but I wonder over the last few months how USPS can deliver in 3 days and FED EX in 5-9 days and their name bears the word "EXPRESS" >??

Here ups has been solid for me overall. Fed ex is horrible though. Everytime is see someone shipped something here with fed ex it makes me cringe. Just last week my box of berghia was "delivered" but not to me. No clue what they did with it. Lucky salty underground was cool and reshipped. I doubt fed ex ever even admitted losing the package or taking to the wrong house.

I always here all these horror stories on UPS and FedEx. Never had any issues here. FedEx is top notch on their deliver, always an hour earlier delivery on their next day shipment based on their estimated delivery time from all coral shipments.

Hello,

Personally I don’t work for them and I am sure they have rules for reasons. But I’m pretty fed up with every time I ship anything (even if they place it in the box) I need full id, passport ten phone numbers, ten numbers for the other person, good grief. I sent a close friend a birthday gift fedex wedsenday from Idaho to Oregon. Delivery is suppose to be Tuesday of next week and it was 10 dollars. Oh okay fine. (It actuallt got there the next day) but why the full background check just to send some blouses and two summer dresses, that were still in the bag and the employee placed in the box themselves. I can see if it was already sealed maybe, but really and then they ask me what am I shipping? Umm didn’t you just pack the box yourself, you know what’s in it. Then they ask why, they ask me how do I know them, then they ask me, if either of us have shipped any thing on the ban list or whatever they call it. It’s ridiculous and it’s not just fedex but ups also and usps. They are all horrible here in Boise.

Wow, that's does seem a little excessive. I wouldn't know why they would need all that info. For me I dont know bow the front desk part works. I drive semi for them and i deal mostly with GM stuff so i dont ever go to customers bouses or anything. That still seems like a little overkill.

Fedex slips up every now and again but they are still loads better than USPS.

I don't care if your underpaid or don't like your job. Everyone IN AMERICA chooses what they do for a living. I'f you don't like what you do for a living then don't do it. Don't make the rest of us suffer because you can't do the job that you choose to do.

Agree 100% but people now days dont seem to understand this. Idk what happened after my generation. I was born in 92 and I feel everyone born after me is so childish. Idk if this is what everyone thinks but I swear my year was the last decent year. Then again maybe I'm just one of the few good ones of my year and the rest are just as bad and I don't see it. I can say that being lazy and wanting everything handed to me was not how I was raised.

I've watched a Fed Ex driver pull up, get out of the truck (no package) and just stick a notice on the door and leave. MORE THAN ONCE! DIFFERENT DRIVERS EVEN!

In every State and every town and every home ive ever had, FedEx has been hands down the worst.

Serious question: why does fedex seem to be the standard in this hobby? Are their prices really that much lower than UPS/USPS/On Track/ect?

Maybe I just live in a place that's privileged with alot of jobs... but seriously, if you don't like your job, then find a new one. instead of making other people suffer because your incompetent to do your job. Then do something else.
