Tested water in the sump/rock curing tank again.

Nitrates— a little under 10
Phosphate— .11
Alk—7.4 DKH
Calcium— 440
Magnesium— 1410

still been adding a cube of mysis to the tank every day, just to make sure the rock is ready.

Got a few things yesterday in preparation for the tank showing up this week.

5 bags of Tropic Eden sand.
Another bucket of TMPR.
Jack posts to support the floor under the tank.

When does the tank come? I have given serious consideration to a Custom Aquarium tank of very similar dimensions— be sure to let us know how you like the quality.

It should be delivered either tomorrow or Tuesday. It has been shipped from Custom Aquariums. Waiting on the shipping company to call to set up delivery.

I am excited to see it too. I will definitely be posting my thoughts once the tank and stand get here. What dimensions are you thinking of?

Exciting! I have a 72” long tank now, so I might want to go 8’ (or 9? ... keep the dream alive!), 24-30” deep and 22-24” tall.

Are you having it drilled for their siphon-stopper system? (I use part of their Seamless Sump system now.)

No, I had the back of the tank drilled for a EMS overflow. 8’ or 9’ would Be awesome. 7‘x30”x22” is about my dream size, but when I started adding up the extra costs for lighting and flow for the extra 2’ it just didn’t make sense at this time. There is nothing that I would have kept in a 7’ tank that I can’t keep in the 5’ tank, and everything will be more manageable for now.

Do you have a tank set up currently? Build thread?

Mine is a bit of a Frankenstein setup, but it was an excellent learning curve. It is a 72” x 24” by only 12” tall frag tank, converted for use as a FOWLER. So you can see why I’m ready to bump things to the next level. I do, however, like long but shallow tanks. ;)

I would much rather have depth (front to back) than height myself any day. That 20-22” tall is about perfect for my tastes.

Nice tank by the way. I really like all the open space you have for the fishes to show off in.

Thanks. It would be nice if we all lived closer, but tomorrow’s goal will just be getting it to the garage and then gather some help for the weekend to get it inside and in place.

Well I was suppose to be posting pictures of a tank and stand tonight, but it did not show. Took a half day off of work (shipping company said they would deliver between 1:00 and 5:00) watched out the window for a truck to show up. Nothing.

Called at 4:30 to find out if it was still coming today and was told their computers were down and they couldn’t give me any info until they came back up.

Called again at 5:15 and got the same story. Computer system is down and without it we can’t look up where the truck is at or if it would still be coming. Asked when I could expect another attempt at delivery and was told that they couldn’t say without the computers being up.

So I guess I have to wait on them to call to try and arrange a time to deliver again and take another half day off of work to wait on them to show. So frustrated right now.

Your life sounds like my life. Or as Rodney Dangerfield used to say, “Whenever I drive, every lane I’m in ends in 500-feet.” :(

It is frustrating, but in the grand scheme of things it won't really matter.

No update from the shipping company today. Their system is still down. I guess I am going to be taught patience on this build one way or another. I wouldn't mind if it didn't take so long. :)

Well, have you ever wondered if it is ever going to come together. I am there right now. Got the crate off the truck, took one panel off and this is what greets me.

Here is the space it is going in.

While it looks like a fairly white wall, it is more of a creamy beige color. The bright white stand would make the wall look really dingy. Because of this, I had ordered an oak stand stained a dark walnut which would match the trim in the room.

I have reached out to both Custom Aquariums and the LFS owner that I ordered the tank through. They are trying to sort it all out. More to come.
