Also I’m jealous of all y’all with the IOAOI nano! I’ve had it on my list for months and it just sits there tempting me LOL! If only I had a space for it :-(
We barely have the space 🤣 but I somehow always make some. Christmas is around the corner. Treat yourself!

Just hit the buy button and don’t think about it 😅

Which Hygger light is it? I am thinking of getting the 36 watts for my 6 gallon so I am wondering if you like the Hygger.

🙂

Thinking of getting a dedicated stand (my god who am I) and found one from a liquidation sale. It’s a white Landen tank. Only downside that it has foam padding since it was meant for their tanks. Now the tank I’m waiting on also has foam and I am concerned of foam on foam. Will it cause any issues or should I remove the foam layer on the stand? Hoping to score it for $50 this Saturday.

Update: scored it for $50 so I’ll be picking it up. If it doesn’t work, I’ll just sell it. They already assembled it so that saves me some headache. Now to just move things around again in the office 😅

Well, that's a good price! Hoping it works out for you

Hopefully so it’s this one. It is a 1.5 hour drive but oh well! Not sure how foam padding on the stand will react with the foam padding on the tank. Since my husband dislocated his shoulder I’m going to need to call some friends over for reinforcements to move things around again 😅

Not starting off strong with getting someone’s used skimmer. Getting a replacement ship to me once I drop this off..it was just free floating in the bag

On the other hand the tank looks nice and was very well packaged. Not fully unpacking till I have my stand tomorrow just wanted to inspect. Also ordered a drip acclimation and an acclimation box. Bummed about the skimmer but I will receive a new one in no time.

Stand acquired and macro algae also acquired. The macro will be going into main setup till nano is set up but I got giddy and my LFS threw in some free extras. He was pretty giddy about the seahorse idea 😆 I think he’s gonna try to procure some for me if possible

Got home. There is one major problem. I miscalculated the size and there are two options

1)tank will overhang a little bit but see from all 3 sides and be aesthetically pleasing (a few cm on front and back)

2) tank will sit flush but the backend sump area will be facing the side. I would only see one side and front

Stand needs a very good cleaning as well. I’m debating just putting it sideways on the stand. I wanted all the wires all pretty in the stand which I can still do besides the light which I am still thinking of getting something else. This is pretty budget which I’m still saying I’m under $500 before any pets and getting another stand is not really an option as I do like this one a lot.

Thoughts are welcome. Will post pictures later after lunch.

Support under the edges is very highly recommended on rimless tanks. That's part of what's causing the Red Sea failures from what I understand - unsupported front glass allows it to eventually sag.

These tanks, the glass won't be as heavy and is less likely to sag but it's really going to be up to you if it's worth the risk.

My tank sits on a round potted plant stand and I have a piece of finished shelving that is just wider than the tank all the way around.

Also not an update for this tank but getting a little clown next week. Waiting on an acclimation box but he was wanting to come home with me. Told the LFS if he’s still available I’m 100% next Saturday 😆
