card, your friend will not have to go without his phone. Apple will overnight a phone to him and then he will use the same box to overnight his phone back free of charge. If apple deems his phone non-repairable then they will send him a new phone. It happened to me. Great customer service

I've not been keeping up with the iPhone too much... does anyone know if they'll eventually go to other service providers and, if so, when?

From what i have heard, they have a multi-year agreement with at&t. So it won't be coming to any other providers in the US any time soon.

they actuall were trying to go with verizon before they went with att. Verizon didnt like the fact that apple wanted so much controll and profit share so they dropped apple. IMO big mistake

I love my iphone. I havent had any problems yet, knock on wood. There is one major engineering issue with the iphone though. The speaker is so dang close to the reciever that anytime i out somone on speaker phone, they yell at me because they can hear themselves talking. It creats on echo on the other persons and since the speaker is right next to the reciever. The iphone also doesnt let you delete individual photos out of libraries that get stored on it from your computer. Its kind of annoying.
