Had the last tank up and going now for 3 years. Got burned out for about 9 months and the tank didn't kill itself if fact everything grew a bunch. Got back in to the swing of things about 6 months ago. Decided to go big this time.

Found a 260 gallon tank setup with stand, canopy and sump. Going to move everything over from the smaller tank. I will take it to my office and move my 25 cube in to it. So I guess this will be two builds in one.

260 will be on Radion G5 Pros need to find two used ones to add to the 2 I am already running. The tank I just picked up came with Xr15's so I will just mount four of them. Currently running a T5 hybrid setup but will do away with them.

New tank is used and had quite a bit of coralline algea got it all cleaned tonight. Going to paint the stand black and run do away with the canopy much to my wife's dismay. They are pain and I don't like them.

Will be a SPS dominant tank with some LPS and zoas mixed in. Going to do my absolute best to get rid of the xenia on the rocks that will be moved over. See how that plays out.

Welcome to anyone willing to follow along -

Encountered the first real head scratcher.

Basement area the is where the tank is going used to be the garage. Looks like when the previous owner turned in to a living space they did not level the floor.

Anyone have thoughts on the best way to level this thing? It is off about 3/4" over 4 foot.

Got the stand leveled out. Some plywood sheets and shims we are good to go.

Got on the aqua scaping I think I like what we built here. The far left side will hold the rock from the current 90 gallon. I will place various other pieces of the current scape around these rocks. Hoping to get the tank plumbed over the Christmas weekend and run a water test Sunday or Monday.

You can use self leveling concrete, I had the same situation in my garage, if you don’t plan on being there for a long time then obviously not the right solution but long term it can definitely work

Your large arch in the picture of dry rock, did you use acrylic rods to reinforce it?

I did not. I used thick and thin super glue with sand. I could pick it up by just the top of the arch and it held together.
I never thought about using sand!
