I put that Favia on a Branched piece of Rock with some bonding agent about 4 months ago. I think it is a Two Little Fishies brand I used that day because I didn’t have reef glue. Do I need to call Julian up about this? Today I noticed it looked to be deteriorating, showing some porous like openings. Looking closer with the spectacles on, there are clear tubular tunicate like protrusions coming out. Hmm. Summoning Ispeakfortheseas :)

Looks like a sponge to me. The kind that will smother that coral.

I’ll keep an eye on it. The coral got too much light when I changed the lighting schedule a month back to accommodate my then work schedule. Upped the intensity and duration slightly, and well, too much with slightly different on/off hours. Just what I need though, more things to keep me on my toes and busy.

What a spectacular hitch hiking sponge. I would be thrilled.

There’s plenty of hitch hikers I’m wary of, but I kinda embrace it. I’d never seen a bobbit worm until I saw some posts on here a few weeks ago, but I’m with you on interesting, should be cool if it doesn’t overgrow the coral.
