I measured wrong on my stand...

I need to shave a 1/4” from the side of this hole for the plumbing to fit. its 3/4” oak ply. Any ideas besides sand paper?? Would a dremel with sandpaper bits work? I’m fine with going through a lot of bits if it means I don’t have to take the stand up stairs and to the garage to use a saw. I’m so mad at myself! Measure twice and all...

Yes you could use a dremel with tips, jig saw, file whatever makes it easier for you. As long as your not messing with the structure of it your fine.

Yes anything you want a jigsaw would be faster just remember you may need to fix a bulkhead one day (hopefully never will) and you may need space to use tools or at least get your hand so I would oversize it.

Router is probably the Cleanest fastest way. But a Fein tool . or clone of one will also work..

a Scroll or coping saw would also get in there to do it by hand.. Jig saw, Saw zaw ..

I have all the saws mentioned except a router...of course. Father in law may have one though. If not, I’ll use a jigsaw. Thank you for your ideas!!!

I'd just jigsaw it, maybe sand smooth, it's going to be covered anyway, does not have to be super clean IMO

Right, don’t care how it looks bc it won’t be visible. I just don’t want to get sawdust all over my basement. I will carry it back up the stairs and out to the garage...that’s what I get. I should have made it bigger to begin with. Thanks again!

It's easy to use a jigsaw to carefully zip away the edge of a hole. Sandpaper would take a week. A dremel would be quick too, but for 1/4" just use the jigsaw.

Hold a shop vac hose right next to the blade and go slow Vac up the saw dust as you go along.. I have even used at times a 3 sided cardboard box to help contain any dust .
But then again it does not look to big to be hard to move ..

Jig saws are not heavy dust makers, it could easily be done in place.
