I raise my alk. From 7.8 to 8.7 all at once for 150G water volume maybe 1.1 dkh or 1.2dkh whats gonna happen now? Its a mistake. I was tired doing maintenance

I think the Red Sea Alk is Sodium Bicarbonate but I'm not sure. Sodium Bicarbonate does raise pH for a while so totally normal.

Maybe someone else can confirm the ingredient

But the part that im concerned about is the Ph spike my ph went from 8.26 to 8.93 and back to 8.36 and let alone that 1dkh spike i did i feel like i killed something

It could be alright. My sps tank can handle that kind of swing, but every tank is different. No one will know for sure. I’d keep an eye on it and let the alk fall on its own.

I don’t know what Red Sea contains, but sodium bicarbonate will slightly lower pH upon addition.
