I got this frag this weekend and am not sure what kind it is.Can some one help give me an id?

I agree, alveopora. Ours like medium light and medium to heavy flow. Very pretty coral.

So I have it on the top of my reef do you think this is too much light?

What kind of lighting are you using? And what kind of lighting was it under when you bought It? I always judge where to put it (at least to start with ) by what lighting it was under when I bought it.

So i bought it from petco. So i guess they'r standard lights. I currently have the fluval reef 2.0.

Yes petco runs basic t5's for their corals. I would leave it where it is for now and just keep an eye on it. After it is acclimated to your tank it should start opening up nicely. If in a week or 2 you don't see it opened up I would move it down to the middle of the tank.

Ok that makes sense. I will keep an eye on it. It opens up it' polyps but does not extend them like it was in petco.
