I need to move a rock

Hey everyone, happy Friday to all who celebrate! So I have a question. I need to move a rock in order to get some anemones off that I am giving to someone. my 2 fold problem is that some of my Zoa colony has started to spread on this rock, how should I seperate? They are just Zoa's, not paly's. Do I just pick up the rock, causing the separation and what survives does, and what doesn't doesn't? Or should I try cutting them first? Also, it looks like I may have another anemone kind of attached to part of this rock, and part of another. What is the best way to deal with this? I know it can be rather easy to cause their foot to tear, which can be fatal. I do not want that to happen. Please any and all help would be greatly appriciated.

Here are a couple photos with the one in question circled in red. The arrow is pointing to the rock I need to remove. Just for info I plan to remove the rock and some water so can more easily work to remove the anemones I am getting rid of.

For the record for anyone wondering, I am getting rid of these anemones because they are irritating that Favia in the middle.

With respect to the zoos crossing over from one rock to another, I would separate by tearing apart.

Good luck on removing BTA. In my experiences, they move about plenty on their own.

So can I just pick the rock up as planned and the Zoas will tear accordingly? Yeah anemones are funny. I know it will be a job removing them , that is why I want to do it outside the tank. I started with one and I now have 13. So it’s time to thin the herd so to speak.

My first marine tank included curlyque anemone growing on Galveston jetty blocks. It was tedious not to tear the foot.

In the case of small anemones on two connecting surfaces, I would pull in the vertical plan of the side I wanted it removed from.

Thank you. Yeah I saw this before and it seems like a fantastic idea. But I have so many Nems in this one area, it would be incredibly difficult to do this method. I am planning on just removing the rock, placing it in a bucket with aquarium water, and gently working them off one at a time. My biggest concern was if I tear the Zoa’s that are attaching to this rock, would they survive. And I don’t know for sure yet, but I think one nem may be attached to 2 different rocks. I plan to this next Sunday morning. I will post how it went.
