Just keep the light off in the refugium? The fuge is built into my return chamber so other than turning the light off only other option is to remove the chaeto.

I would not turn the light off (that will kill the chaeto - and you will really have problems) I would feed more - or remove the chaeto. and perhaps some of the other stuff you added (phosban)

SO now that I got my Nitrate back up to 10ppm, skimmer back on and going to test again tonight. If Nitrates are up from 10 should i reintroduce some rowa to stabilize at 10ppm or let the nitrates climb to 20 to help the monti caps regain color?
Edit : sorry for the tone of this post, I reacted to your concern for your nitrate level more than I should have. Don’t do what I did, I guess, stay level.
:)

Monday you “over did it,” today your nitrate was 10 yesterday(?) and if it’s higher than ten parts per million (10/1,000,000 =1/100,000) you want to jump on that with RowaPhos, that removes phosphate
, right?
How do the monti caps look today? They will improve faster with less intervention, imo. Let the tank mature and it will start feeding on the nitrates you have in it. The corals will get more colorful and it would not surprise me if you don’t have to dose nitrates later to keep them elevated and your corals growing.
Don’t change anything for a week would be my first recommendation but if you must increase the photoperiod on the fuge by one hour, but nothing else.
10 ppm nitrate is a good nutrient level.

Ok so I got my nutrients back up. Nitrates 10ppm po4 0.8. Color is returning to the sps. I turned my lights down during this process of raising my nutrients. Should I raise my lights again. It seems the sps that are higher in the tank have regained there color faster. Please view these pics and let me know if I should increase the light or leave it in acclimation mode.

Don't try too hard to polish water. the best water conditions are STABLE conditions. Take time to enjoy tank than stressing over numbers.

Why are you so concerned with a 10ppm nitrate level? If it were me or anyone here we'd just leave the tank alone and let the natural cycle of the tank do it's job. It's almost like you might keep throwing it into a new cycle. Right now everyone here can feed 51 times a day and not even get over .01 with nitrate.

I understand that now. I was super paranoid about getting a hair algae breakout. All I have read or watched about reefing talks about stable number. My tank was stable at .5 nitrates for months and months so when I saw it jump to 10ppm I panicked. Lesson learned and with the help of all of you everything is back on track and looking great again. You guys are the best and thank you all again for your input.

I wish I had a picture of this when I started this thread. It was so pale almost white and with the help of you fellow reefers look at that color now. Thanks again
