Thaxx one thing you missed in the summary was that rip cleans aren’t total start overs they typically use same rock so the filtration maturity carries over

folks that use a siphon cleaner on sand aren’t said to be starting over, our tap rinsing of sand or replacing it isn’t starting a new reef either, it’s just a better mode for ejecting waste. this tank above is a new reef agreed, it’s like day one of the original setup.

If by rip clean you mean manual removal? It will just come back if you don't find the source. Loads of brand name salts have high iron levels in an icp test of brand tests I found. That and phosphate, and you got algae. Cyano should just grow and eventually die off. Try the vibrant carefully, the reef enhance, or the live rock enhance.

Looking back to your reefing roots: Did you start with Instant Ocean salt?
