I just set up a new 90 gallon. I bought two icecap gyre 4k pumps with the dual controller. I currently have them on opposite ends of the tank. I was hoping to run them like a wavemaker with one pump running while the other is off (or reversed) and then vice versa.

However, I cannot figure out how to get that set up. And, i have no idea if that is even a good idea. Any help would be great.

I just bought the same set-up about a month ago— but I haven’t opened the boxes yet (because my tanks are being built). Any online videos to help?

I programmed mine they the app, hydros. I am running it in IOS, on my phone and an IPad running a 2k and a 4K. In a 180

I have mine set to do what you want. See images and set your high end speeds lower for that smaller tank (I have a 48x24x24 120gal)

Let me know if you have questions. There are some things you just can't do until you go wave engine :(

Thank you for the images. I am still a little confused. I am sure I am making this way too complicated. Why is one pump set up as same end, and one set up as opposite end?

What triggers one pump to turn off while the other pump is on?

The link I posted has all that info? There are some Youtube videos also
I have watched a lot of videos, and most of the videos on the site you posted. However, I do not find anything on how to set up 2 pumps on 1 controller and get them to operated like a wavemaker.

Same and opposite makes then operate in opposite alternative modes. When pump 1 is 100% pump 2 is -100% (reverse). If you chose both as same end or both as opposite, they would both do the same thing at the same time, not opposite. Therefore you would not get the tandem push / pull. These pumps were confusing to me at first, try different things and set the sine loops for low times so you can see the effects.

Good luck!

I programmed my new gyre, I have a day trigger and a night trigger. But, the gyre never triggers switching based on time of day

I talked with coralvue about this. I had separate night and day modes. Don't do this. The mode needs to be the same for your triggers.

If you want an alternating gyre you need to swap blades, at least my 2k's came with an extra set and its not really described. This video describes it

Basically you need 2 A's and 2 B's. Both set to same side. This basically splits your gyre output in half though but allows you to gyre in both directions.

The reason many people complain about the gyres being so loud when in reverse(or not pushing much water) is because the wrong blades are on.

I am lost on mine, I seen videos that they say pick the pump you want on the app but mine does not say pumps at all and just the status light is on and green and mode light is on, both pump lights are off

Finally figured out the problem, ( was me actually)

You need to have a hydros and when your are in your schedule tab change it to 2 pumps and in square wave and also what side the pump is on
Set your strength of the wave and the interval time you are going to need to mess with it to find the resonance of your tank
So remember
Two pumps
Opposite sides
Square wave mode
Strength of wave
Time of interval
And your all set
