IceCap Battery Back Up connected to either Varios 6 or Octo 4 via Apex

Hi All,
In anticipation of hurricane season, I recently purchased an IceCap Battery BackUp v.3. In the off chance I am not here when the power goes out, ideally the battery back up would kick on to run my Varios-6 return pump but I’ve read with this forum it won’t actually work. I do have an Octo 2 and 4 within the display tank that are connected to my Apex EB. Does anyone know how I would connect the battery back up to the Octos and also keep them connected to the apex? I don’t want the battery back to power the entire Apex.
What complicates it further, is that these are usually off and I only run them occasionally. Thanks!

You can set the apex to turn everything off but what you want in a power outage. Personally I would not recommend that however and just run the pump directly.
