New tank, I have been running it at 88F for two weeks to kill any potential ich from the live sand I added. Today I set up the AWC system and realized there may have been water stuck inside the dosing heads. They are used Neptune DOS pumps. However, they have been sitting since April 25th.
Technically ich can go dormant in areas with low oxygen, such as in the dosing pump head. It has been over 7 months however. Does anyone know how long ich can survive in those conditions?
The second pump I did not hook up but when I ran it manually liquid did come out from inside the pump.
I really hope I did not just potentially put ich into all of my AWC lines.
The odds that ich would have encysted, gone dormant, and survived for 7 months inside the dosing head seems highly unlikely. Then again it’s an insane parasite.
Thank you
