Hippo has ick in my fish only tank. I have 2 clowns, one diamond watchman gobie, one firefish, one female lyrtail anthesis, and the hippo. All are eating good and active hippo is a pig eats like crazy and flying around all over the tank. My question is Hyposalinity which I've read is a good remedy to my problem. I do have snails and red leg crabs. Will this kill the crabs and snails. I have no qt tank and no medicine until after Xmas. It's hard tosee I the picture from what I've read it's ick not velvet.

If you are planning to go ahead with the hyposalinity , i would remove all inverts and members of your clean up crew. None of them don't fare well during the treatment you're planning :upside-down-face:

Some of them may very well make it- but are you willing to take the chance?

Most of the snails I wasn't able to get out didn't make it through hyposalinity. And the handful of Nassarius snails that did make it through the low salinity month crawled out of their shells as soon as the salinity started rising again and got chopped up by my wave makers.
