I lost a lyretail angel suddenly this morning. She had started rubbing her mouth on a rock 2 days or so prior. I couldn’t see anything on her. I noticed today my clown goby is a mess and my royal gramma is started to rub against rocks. I dont see any of my other fish showing issues. I can’t really tell what it is. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks,
Joe

Looks like velvet to me and since you’ve had loss already you may be too late to stop it from entirely wiping out all your fish but you definitely need to get them in at and treat with copper and fast.

It’s possible it’s ich I’m not an expert but from photos it looks more like velvet to me are they breathing faster than usual or into powerheads

No swimming into the powerheads just rubbing on rock. Still eating, no abnormal breathing yet. I have seen my tailspot blenny curl and bite his tail but no visible spots. My wrasse has a few spots but it always has since i bought it months ago. Chromi, clowns look clean. Do i need to treat everyone or just the infected fish(s)? Buying a qt in the morning. Hard lesson to learn i guess.

I agree that this looks like velvet. I have had experience with both.

Might be mucus plugs from disease. The treatment for ich and velvet are the same. Copper. I would think if you had brook.. the clowns would be visibly ill. Treat all fish.

Its looking unlikely that i can catch all of these guys. So far three out of nine. I have the clown goby, wrasse and ladder goby. My royal gramma comes out to scratch himself pretty violently for 2 seconds and gone! Any fish catching tricks out there? I know i’m on borrowed time. Thanks!
