I picked this up at a shop in NJ and have no idea what it is lol. It is healthy and has been in the tank for over a month. At first glimpse I thought it was a small torch but the arms shoot back into a hard exoskeleton when agitated.

I wish I could shoot a better picture but that's how an iPhone sees my tank

Yep you're right! I searched it and live aquaria has a pic very similar to what I have. Thanks ritter6788. Any tips or experience with these guys? It says they are aggressive so I need to see what I should expect as far as growth so I don't place anything too close to it.

Jeez I have it about 5" away from some palys and frogspawn below. Since the frogspawn and this guy are aggressive do you think that they may "let each other know they are there" or is it flirting with disaster? They have been in place since it went in the tank and I haven't seen anything on either that would tell me one isn't happy.

jCoffin, I have seen Galaxea do some damage lol. I have seen short sweepers and very long sweepers. Ritter is right 6" is usually what someone would see. I would go ahead and move either of the two just in case. they do grow pretty slowly but personally, better safe than sorry. I had one destroy an acan colony VERY quickly.

It's funny you say that because I picked an acan up at the same time and the small shelf I set it on was about 4" away. It started to get a dimple in the side and in a week it was colored skeleton. Thanks for the info because I had no idea this guy could wreak so much havoc. I'll be redoing some placement this weekend so no one gets hurt.
