ID please

I’ve noticed these red/black growths on my hammer coral. Can anybody ID these? The coral is always open and happy so it doesn’t appear to be hurting anything but I’m concerned it could be a pest. It’s been in the tank for about 3 months ( it was my first coral)

Vermetid worm. If you notice a mucus webbing coming from them you can glue them shut.

Yep agree. I would superglue the opening. They can irritate corals
