Picked this up today as part of a coral/tank break down sale and forgot to ask what it was lol

Appears to be an Acropora however until it grows its impossible to determine what species.

Thank you, so what will i need to look for, for a species ID?

That looks like it could probably be Acropora Secale or Acropora Valida.

Once the color improves and growth occurs, then we can tell. The main thing is to see what newly formed coralites and branches look like.

^+1 this is all old stalled growth, very difficult to tell species until new growth takes off again.
