Before it goes in my tank, I was just given this by my wife and I have no clue what it is

Does it have a hard skeleton? If so, maybe a long tentacle plate coral.
 
She just got home. Took me all of 2, seconds to realize it was a long tentacle anemone. That's why I don't like gifts for the tank!
I actually needed one in the tank but it could have easily been something bad.
