Can’t really tell from the pictures but almost looks like a mithrax from the claw shape. If it’s out during the day it is likely not a gorilla as they’ve been exclusively nocturnal ime.

He does come out to feed during the day sometimes, looked like an emerald crab to me

He does come out to feed during the day sometimes, not an emerald right?
It could be an emerald, they are part of the mithrax family. The best way to tell is the claw shape. The mithrax family have flat almost clipper like claws for eating algae without sharp points. I’d look at the claws and behavior to determine what it is.

Did you add live rock at any point?

Thank you for your response, I only added coral and must have come with it

Look up some pictures of mithrax crabs and compare the claws to yours. I wouldn’t worry unless your tank is underfed. These guys love algae wafers if you need to spot feed.

Thanks much and will do that, claws do look like Mithrax as gorilla has thick meaty claws
