Id this nem please

Have had it in the tank for over a month now been happy and stable. Was sold to me as a long tentacle anemone and was recently informed it could be a H. aurora anemone and did not see a lot of information on these guys online. I have to admit that it looks a lot more like H. Aurora than a LTA.

You are right after reading through the forums my tank is a bit young. My parameters have been pretty rock solid so far. Hopefully I can continue to provide good husbandry to these beautiful creatures.

Currently I have 9 anemones in the tank. 2 are from splits.

The anemone in question above has been in my tank 2 months without any issues from him. He moved once and has since stayed put.

Can you get pictures or have pictures of the foot? The underside? Not an LTA. But not sure. I am no expert at identifying nems. How big is it?

It is around 5 inches by 7 inches if I remember correctly the foot was reddish pink in color.

Looks super similar to my rfa I recieved on gulf live rock but slight differences.
Am curious to see what others say as well.

Do you have any clowns? More curiosity than any other reason. Maybe you can ask them. Although if they are clarkiis, they will tell you nothing as they love all nems the same.

if it’s doing well, don’t change anything and keep going! Looks like it’s doing well to me for a new tank!

And, be happy with what you have. Swings can be long and drastic. Go a couple months and keep diligent care, before adding anymore. If things keep looking good a couple more months, then loosen the clamps if you want. Sometimes there’s a lag in “reef pressure”... get past the reef pressure before adding anything else. Let it stabilize. Good job. Your anemone looks good.

Any special care for these guys? Wasnt able to find out too much online. One source said to feed often another said once a week if fine. I've been feeding every 4 days or so some human grade uncooked small peices of shrimp.

Keep doing what you’re doing. But be aware: feeding anemone typically cause growth. If you see it increase in size, and want it’s size to stay smaller, pull back on feeding. Maybe go 7 days instead of 4 days, as long as it keeps looking good. Open disk like it has is a sign it’s happy. Keep it happy. I don’t feed my anemone anything, but I’ve had mine for years, and after years, you get to know what each one wants. All a little different.

I do not feed my malus. They are hosting clarkiis though, and they are very good guests. So fun to watch them feed their host.
