Hi, first post here so please be easy on me!

I have some zoas in my tank. Been there for about 9 months (and yeah, they've not grown much). Over the last 3-4 months I noticed these white, long, stringy things growing from "somewhere" around them. The white strings are quite hard (I accidentally snapped one once, it was like a very small and thin uncooked noodle).

At the ends of these white strings, you'll notice a little "head", which seems to retract and expand. You'll see one of the heads quite well on the photo sticking upwards amongst the Zoas. You'll also see the white string going from left to right on the base and then down into that rock below.

Anyone have any ideas?

Feather duster? any way to get a more upclose photo?

Yep, looking like a feather duster to me as well! Harmless if so.

Here's another couple of closer photos. I hope that helps.

Great, thanks so much for such a quick reply.

Would they restrict the growth of the zoas? i.e. should I be getting rid with some tweezers?

Tube worms/feather dusters and one aiptasia towards the bottom of the frag plug.
