I already know the yellow ones are junk. Who uses one on the job? what brand do the professionals use? How much?
Any recommendations under $100 ?
What about probes?

IMO, brand is not nearly as important as the attributes. Should have two (or more) point calibration. If it comes with a probe, a double junction is best, and a plastic body is less likely to be broken by you.

Do you have a recommendation on one? I have a hard time telling the colors sometimes.

I've had 3 of these now. I don't know if I'm excessivly clumsey or just unlucky, but I've broken all 3. Last one I broke a couple of weeks ago. Was pulling it out of the case and slipped out of my hand and fell maybe 3-4 feet onto a rug and stopped working. Obviously not recomended to be dropping these things, but I'm thinking I'm just going to have to find something else. Worked really well before I broke them all though :)

neither, they are. genuinely cheap as are thos ubiquitous yellow or red pen type pH meters that use those. weird calibration standards like 6.86 .....
