Set water level in sump at exactly 11 inches in the main skimmer section so that splashing sound is completely eliminated. It will vary up or down by approx 0.25 inches and water flow still maintains absolute silence.

Long time lurker here and just finally registered since I just took delivery of an IM 150 EXT with RFS39 sump!

Hey so are you actually using a Fiji AFR 15 (1.5?) or Fiji ARF 20 (2.0?). I've been reading comments and a other user reference yours as AFR 20.

I will be following your build especially on the Fiji AFR for my RFS39 sump. Will the AFR 1.5 or 2.0 fit either way? I'm curious about the acrylic extensions you had made. Are there any chance you had extras made that I can purchase from you?

Thanks!

I am using the Fiji AFR 20(2.0). Either one should fit because BRS originally sent me the older 1.5 model. I had to return it because it had a manufacturing defect and the replacement was a 2.0. So I had the chance to verify both will fit. I only ordered one set of acrylic extensions from TAP plastics. The dimensions and drawings were posted a couple of pages earlier. I am still using the ARF filter, the rolls last about 2 to 3 months each and you can always wash the used fleece 2-3 times and reuse before discarding it. Another tip, it’s very easy to replace the roll. Just use some very strong thin adhesive tape to tape the new roll to the end of the old roll to pull the new roll through the filter. No need to disassemble

Man thank you so much and for sharing your build! I am getting the ARF 20 and I will be having the extensions made per your drawings.
