How do u get away with no water changes

I setup my 120 that way from day one.
I follow Glen Fongs method.
Difference is I use a carx with manmade media.
Bare bottom system.
Dose DSR trace daily.
Esv strontium weekly.
7" filter sock.
Tunze skimmer & carx.
4 in tank powerheads on alternating flow @ 2500gph each.
8 T5's 4b+ 4c+
Tunze Ato.
Just keep it simple method.
1-2 no3
.02-.06 po4.
Alk 8.
11 fish including 2 tangs and feed 3-4 times a day.
And practice the number one parameter.
"STABILITY".
Thats about it really.
