17-gallon reef + 12-gallon Fiji Cube sump

This is my current 17g display tied into a 12g Fiji Cube sump. The goal with this build was stability and headroom rather than pushing the limits of an all-in-one.

Mixed reef with an emphasis on softies and LPS for movement and color, supported by a real sump for filtration, volume, and long-term consistency. The extra water volume has made a noticeable difference in stability compared to typical nano setups.

Flow and lighting are kept moderate and deliberate — nothing pushed hard. Corals are responding well, extension is solid, and growth has been steady rather than rushed.

Happy to answer questions on the sump layout, plumbing choices, or why I went this route instead of a standard AIO.

Switched to bare bottom and tiled the floor with biotiles as advised by Kung Fu Corals. My corals have never been happier! This photo is two weeks old and they are already noticeably bigger!
