I'm confused about filtration media... New BioCube 32g

I got my cubes from algae barn in one of their packages kits of algae, pods, and phytoplankton they sell.

Definitely going to be checking out algae barn. Did the kit you bought help with cycling the tank faster?

I started mine with Seachem Matrix

I run that as well and have had success.

My tanks were already up and running for a few years at that point, I had a few tanks set up and divided everything between them, I didn’t really need them but I was buying pods and phytoplankton and I think the package was on sale so I just bought it for a little extra.
