Sorry about the slow response, we got the results Monday morning but we had some reason to be suspicious about the final result so they took a couple days to confirm it. I didn't want to deliver the news until I knew for sure. Thank you so much for everyone's support! You guys are awesome! I wrote a little something about how I feel about everything.


A wedding is about more than the binding of two souls together, it's also about the coming together of two families to form a new larger family. Brenna and I have been able to feel that in such a huge way because of the contest. These past two weeks Brenna and I have seen our families, friends, friends of friends, coworkers, ward members, and even the communities of people that share our passions, come together for a common cause. It's been so fun and we've felt so much love and support. We are glad that it's finally over and I'm sure you are too hahaha.


Even though it was such a close race and we had such high hopes we can't help but feel so special and blessed for being able to participate. We can't put a price on the love and support we've received. We ended with just under 12,000 votes that's incredible! So thank you all for your obvious support!


Congratulations to the other couple, it was neck and neck for a long time but they really pulled through in those final hours. The last update we had before the final results were with six hours left in the competition. We were in the lead by 400 votes. Within the last six hours the other couple did 4000 votes! Quadrupling their daily average in six hours. I don't know how they did that, but I'm impressed!


We are still very much looking forward to our wedding! We may not have sharks in the background but we will have an amazing wedding! The best part about this whole thing is even though we didn't "win" we definitely didn't lose. All of the love and support you have shown us guarantees we will have one of the richest weddings ever! You did that for us. Thank you

I'm sorry to hear. But like you said this is a great tike for family, friends, and everyone around you! I'm glad that we could do what we could to try to get you this win but sometimes God has other plans for us. Your wedding will be perfect and always remember you don't just have family in other states or countries but you have a family here on r2r and we couldn't be happier for you guys.
