Well I just received my new $399 dollar investment for my 120ga aquatic system. It’s the new IM Helio titanium heater system. I went with the dual 350w elements for my 120ga system because I currently was using a 200w glass Ehiem heater and a 400w glass heater element in my Teco chiller for a total of 600 watts of heating. So far they have been doing their job w/o issue but it’s coming up on 2 years so time to replace them. Recently when I was cleaning my sump I noticed the Ehiem had sweat on the inside of the glass near the control portion so it has to go now.
So far I’m impressed with the Helio system, comes neatly packaged and all the items look like good quality parts with the exception of the control buttons on the side of the PTC Smart Controller. The alarm toggle switch is just a cheap 10 cent switch, the other (3) push buttons are very cheap quality also. Will be hooking it up today and shutting off my Ehiem and Teco element. I’ll update as I see if it does what it’s supposed to do.

$400 for an aquarium heater. I guess it should be REALLY good.
Congrats on your purchase.

I know it was a lot of money, but the heater plays a big part in my tanks’ stability. And once you break down what you’re getting kind of makes sense.

How long are the cords? Been considering this but I hate sticking controllers or electronics of any sort in my stand. Wondering how far away you can locate the controller from the heater element, thanks!
