I really hope it doesn’t turn out to be something obvious but I cannot ID this dude for the life of me. He’s been happy for about two months in my tank now, direct light middle of the tank and low flow. I’ve started calling him the soggy moldy beef looking thing. He eats fine and everything he has one mouth in the center.

Looks like some type of tongue or plate coral but hard to see on phone screen.

I agree it's a plate coral, a term that describes quite a few species that are hard to specifically Id.

It will do fine on a rocky substrate as they are found in rubble zones naturally. The only worry with it being on the rockwork is that they can move and it might fall off. They also don't like constant flow from one direction underneath them.
