Hi Guys,

I have a mixed reef and am trying to setup my GHL Doser to dose Alk and Calcium. I have dosed to get the elements to the targeted levels including Magnesium.

The problem I am having is that when I test daily it seems like the consumption of Alk and Cal vary. Some days it will use more than other etc. How do I go about setting up my Doser if I cant determine a consistent daily consumption rate?

Do I just pick a dosing amount to start with and test and make adjustments as necessary?

Most likely the normal variation of the test kits is what is causing it to appear that alk and cal are not tracking together. I would dose equal amount of the two solutions based on your measurement for Alk. Then over a 2 to 4 week time period see if there is really a difference in the consumption of the two.
