So I have a 3 decent pieces of indo torch in my frag tank at the moment. When I got them they were great and vibrant. I acclimated them like i do with all my corals and am afraid they didn't like my tank lighting coming from the t5s that the person I got them from had. I have a shallow frag tank, about 8 inches deep 20 inches by 20 inches. Lighting with an ai prime hd centered Bout 10 to 12 inches off the water. I set the lighting in 50 percent reduction for acclimation. Still bleached them. I have since moved them to the edge of the tank and I think they are still being beaten up. I am afraid to lower the lighting much more because of all the other corals in the tank, which are doing awesome, even the other euphyllia.

Would it be a good idea for me to lay something dark over the tank to sort of shade the torches so they can recover? I don't have a ton of flow, I am using a Cobalt mj1200 for the return pump and that's all the water movement I have in the tank. I'd appreciate any thoughts

Sounds like your other euphyllia are doing fine so I'd be reluctant with cutting back any par. Do you have some nutrients in the water? How bad is the bleaching, can you post some pics?

That's sort of what I was thinking. The bleaching is pretty bad. Like no color left. The tentecles have been coming out still. I will do some water testing on this tank today. I usually just do my weekely water changes and new carbon once a month on this tank. I always assumed the nitrates and phosphates would be present because how little filtration I am running. I do brodcast feed reef chilli and mysis shrimp aacouple times a week. This is the one of first corals giving me a problem, aside from a Colt leather. I attached a photo for you, there are some frogs near the torches as well as a smaller hammer. Theyre color is great.
