Injured bristle starfish

My bristle star was moving this afternoon. I looked closer since he doesnt normally move during the day. His legs have im assuming bite marks and his head (center) is open and can see white. Is he a goner anyday now or will he reheal by himself? Pic is of him normally.

I got into trouble recently when a similar starfish injury was reported. Please keep us updated on the survivability of an badly eaten starfish. I expect it to no survive but I hope I am wrong. Sorry for this situation. I cannot understand what would eat a starfish either, other than a harlequin shrimp but clearly they have other enemies who want them for lunch.

Bite marks? Or is he withering away as he starves to death in that new tank that's too clean to support his needs? Post more pics please

No valentini puffer, convict tang, and file fish were pecking him when I saw him. Definitely bite marks. Just small white areas on the legs and the top of his head. I didnt have my phone when I saw him and instead of pics I helped him get to the rock quickly. Also tank isnt new. He is almost a year old

Imo, if you are seeing him getting picked at, you either remove him to another system or watch him get eaten. If you can't move him, no sense in euthanizing him yourself- may as well let the others eat him. Sorry buddy, I realize how this sounds. Maybe your lfs will take him...(?)

No I get what your saying. I just didnt no if he would reheal himself like normal starfish

He might, but not if other inhabitants are still picking at him...

If you have a sump with a fuge toss him down there and if he survives he can do so in peace.

I was able to get a quick pic but not the best.
