This bump reddish mark just appeared on my goldheart trigger out of nowhere? There is a 5.5inch picasso trigger with him. They get along until feeding time. Not sure if its a bite mark, but I think it is? Does anyone have any insight. All my fish are, Kanaplexed, coppered, and prazied before they go in the DT.

Highly likely this is an injury however its becoming red/sore and I recommend treatment in a separate tank using seachem Neoplex with air stone added to tank and keep an eye on ammonia level using a reliable test kit

I agree, this looks like an injury, especially if it developed suddenly.

As long as the fish is still eating well, and this doesn’t grow in size, you might just watch for now. Of course, if the triggers were fighting after the same piece of food, it can happen again.

I have removed the Humu Humu. He was a trouble maker. He was fine with whoever was in the tank before him, but terrorizes all new additions. Goldie is actually a model citizen.
Goldie is still eating, she seems a bit sluggish tho. She is probably in some pain. Leaving the lights off for a couple days and letting the fish rest. I just added a Banana wrasse and the humu almost killed him instantly.

I’d just run the tank as normal as this creates the least stress.

And if it is injury, we already have a stressed fish.
